These lessons and devotions were developed over time to be used in Sunday School, Church Clubs, Homeschool, Summer Camps and for anyone wanting to find and discover a closer realtionship with God (Jesus). I titled the book - "It is Your Move." Everything we do in life is aboout choices and consequences.
The first time God spoke to me was at the 1997 World Open. I have not done much with the materials and I am sure they could use some editing and improvement. Part of the writing this material was for my own spritual growth and understanding as well.
The Chess Lessons are not to prove chess came from the Bible, but the Bible examples and Scripture are used to help model chess.
Chess is a game with many rules, but they are not hard or complex to understand. It is like God, He reveals himself slowely to those who seek him. The more you learn, the more you want to learn. The more you know, the more you realize you don't know.
You can start to 'Play' in a very short time with some basic instructions of how the pieces move , but you can always learn and improve your knowledge, understanding and strategies with study and practice.
The topics presented here are designed to give you some 'early success' and also provide a foundation for future growth.
The game of chess is WON with checkmate. This usually occurs after a large amount of time and effort and the removal (capture) of many pieces. Beginners should start with 'simple' problems and examples and work backward adding pieces until they are ready to 'play' a full game. Start Slowly and do not become discouraged.
Let me know if you find any errors or mistakes in my lessons or have an idea for a better way to present the material.
Good Luck on your CHESS and SPIRITUAL Learning Adventure.
